What does a YouTube QR code do?
A YouTube QR code encodes your channel URL (e.g. https://youtube.com/@yourchannel). When scanned, it opens YouTube — the channel page or a specific video. Viewers can subscribe or watch in one scan, no typing required.
Can I make a QR code for a specific YouTube video?
Yes. Paste the full YouTube video URL (https://youtube.com/watch?v=...) in the handle/URL field. The tool detects it is already a URL and encodes it directly. This is useful for linking printed materials to a tutorial or promotional video.
What format should I enter — @handle or full URL?
You can enter either. If you type your @handle (with or without the @ sign), the tool builds youtube.com/@yourhandle. If you paste a full YouTube URL, the tool uses it as-is. Both work perfectly.
Where should I put my YouTube QR code?
Great placements: business cards, product packaging, thank-you inserts, merchandise (t-shirts, mugs), flyers and banners, trade show materials, restaurant menus, YouTube Shorts QR in your main videos, and end screen graphics.
Does the QR code link to the YouTube app or the website?
On phones with YouTube installed, tapping the scanned link typically opens the YouTube app. On devices without the app, it opens in the browser. Both show your channel or video correctly.
Can I use this for a YouTube subscriber link?
The QR encodes your channel URL. You can also paste a ?sub_confirmation=1 subscribe link — for example https://youtube.com/@yourhandle?sub_confirmation=1 — which prompts viewers to subscribe immediately when they open it.
How large should I print the YouTube QR code?
Minimum 2×2cm for close-range scanning. For materials like banners and posters meant to be scanned from a distance, use at least 5×5cm. Always download SVG for printing — it is infinitely sharp at any size.
Will the QR code still work if I change my YouTube channel name?
Channel name changes do not affect the URL if you use your @handle. However, if your @handle changes, the old QR will break. Avoid changing your @handle after printing materials. URLs with a channel ID (/channel/UCxxxxx) are permanent even if the handle changes.
Can I create a QR code for a YouTube playlist?
Yes. Paste the full playlist URL from YouTube in the handle/URL field. The tool will detect it as a URL and encode it directly. Playlist URLs look like: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLxxxxx.
Is there a limit to how many QR codes I can generate?
No limits. Generate QR codes for multiple channels, videos, playlists, or campaigns. Each download is a separate PNG file you can use however you like.
